I went to the points 1,2,3… which the guide to the park (Parco fluviale della cassa d’espansione del Secchia Rubiera) shows to be the most interesting. From the comparison between what can (and cannot) be seen on such a flat area and yet one covered in trees, and what the information given by maps of the area, it was natural to think that it had to be seen from a higher point of view. A viewpoint midway between that offered by the map and that of the visitor on foot. After a little research, the hot-air balloon seemed to be the most suitable means of transport for such an undertaking. I found it ideal to slip silently above things, flying at a height of 30-40 metres, so that the distance was a source of clarity and not one of separation.
